Pra Somdej Wat Keschaiyo 5 Chan Pim
Pra Somdej Wat Keschaiyo is classified as one of the three Pra Somdej families attributed to /created by Somdej Pra Phutthachan (To Phromrangsri). When he created these pims, they were placed in the base of the Big Buddha image at Chaiyo Worawihan Temple, Chaiyo District, Angthong.
These pims predominately share the same composition as the Wat Rakhang and Wat Bangkunprom somdej amulets, however the design /printing of Pra Somdej Keschaiyo is unique in that every print has a glass frame , the chest has a groove, beveled ears (except for the 7-tiered chest type) and more than a 3-tiered base, i.e. a 6-tiered base , a 7-tiered base and a 5 tiered base.
Wat Keschaiyo, Angtong pims, were made in 10 different styles,and stored in the Kru at three different time periods. These are the least expensive of the major Somdej Toh amulets and were blessed from BE 2393 onwards.
This particular pim is known as Pra Somdej 5 Chan- Guaranteed 100% genuine and an exceptionally beautiful and highly desirable amulet
The first period they were made at Wat Rakhang and stored at Wat Keschaiyo in BE 2393. The second time they were made at Wat Rakhang and again stored at Wat Keschaiyo to replace the pims stolen after the chedi was broken. Third occasion made at Wat Rakhang and stored at Wat Keschaiyo, this time to replace missing amulets after a thief had dug into the sacred kru.
The following are the 10 main print types for the 7 tiered pim, namely:
1. pim niyom (popular / large print)
2. pim bprà bàa (ears on the shoulders)
3. pim lai dtrong (straight shoulder)
4. pim nák-leng dtoh (gangster sleeve) / kaen dtìng (protruding arms)
5. pim kâeng mon (leg pillow)
6. pim òk wee (v shaped breast)
7. pim kăen glom (circular arms)
8. pim òk dtan (block chest)
9. pim lâm (strong / muscular)
10. pim prok pho
These amulets are made from lime (mortar, calcium oxide) , ground shell, pong itijay, pong puthakun, pong pathamang, pong maharat and pong dtree. All these sacred powders are combined with many other auspicious constituents including khao suk, banana and dried flowers .
