Somdej Prok Po – Ajahn Chum

Many people enjoy collecting Ajahn Chum pims because  they are not only great amulets but also reasonably priced. This particular pim however is very rare indeed and highly prized.

AJAHN CHUM CHAIKIRI – BE 2497

History

Phra Kru Nang Dtra are ancient amulets that were recovered from Amphur Tha Sala, Nakon Sri Thamarat. They were thought to have been originally created in BE 1500 and provided the inspiration behind the series blessed in BE 2497.

This series of pims created in BE 2497 were made from neua din mixed with auspicious herbs and sedges, very much the same as same as the composition of the original pims.

Blessing Ceremony

A total of 84,000 pims were consecrated on the 14^th September BE 24597 at Wat Baromothat , Nakhon Sri Thamarat. The ceremony itself was concluded on the 12^th October, (Phansa Day)  The actual blessing ceremony itself was divided into a number of 7 days periods.  Each 7 day period was used to emphasize a particular attribute, for example

Grapan Chaadtree …Invulnerability  (7 days)
Maha Ut…Protection from weapons  (7 days)
Bpong Gan Satraai… Protection from animals (& days)
Bpong Gan Rohk Pai Kai Jep… Protection from illness (7 Days)
Poot Pee …Protection from malaevolent spirits etc (7 days)
Maydtra Mahaa Niyom… Kindness, Mercy & Compassion (7 Days)
Nayramit Gaai Gamrap Satdtroo… Protection from Black Magic / Enemies etc

The ceremony itself was presided over by Jao Khun Prapatmun, Abbot of Wat Baromothat. In attendance were  Ajahn Pan, Ajahn Chum and 108 other sacred monks including amonst others:

Ajahn Chum was a representative of the common man. At that time Buddha amulet trade and commerce did not exist in the same way that it does today. Amulets were given in return for merit

These amulets were chanted for 7 separate purposes each for seven days, namely; Personal charm and attractiveness, Kongkrapan (Body Protection), Maha Utt (Protection from arms), Protection from wild animals and insects, Protection from evil spirits & ghosts and illness.

Kathas

For protection you should use the following katha every night before sleep:

Namo tassa
Na ma pa ta
Na ma na a
Nor gor na ga
Goror nor a
Na a ga hang

The amulets were also soaked in rat & cat oil and cat & dog oil. These two sets of opposing forces are brought together in unison, increasing the power of the amulet.

In addition the amulet was blessed for invulnerablity (kong Krapan) against weapons and furthermore may in fact be used when handling weapons and the power is invoked through the use of a different katha:
